I just want to start out by saying that biking across America has been a dream of mine since I was about 11 years old and I think that it has almost been that long for Nathan. It all started when my dad read me a book titled "Walking Across America." This sounded like so much fun and a great way to meet people from all over the country.
Going to a camp called World View Academy, at age 16, made me start thinking about how I could evangelize to people in my life. After this camp, I decided that I wanted to reach out to people all along the bike ride. I did not know how exactly I was going to do this, but one idea I had was to make shirts that said something profound on it that made people think.
I lost sight of this goal for several years, till just about a week ago when my good friend Jason asked me if I was going to raise money through this trip? (Not his exact words)
On the way back from Seattle yesterday, I had a lot of time to think. I started to think about how Nathan and I could touch people's lives through this trip. I also realized that we really needed God's help or this whole trip would be a disaster.
Nathan and I are going to be praying a lot over the next couple of weeks to try to find what God's will is for us. Prayer is something that is very key in what we want to accomplish, so any prayer would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Erik Hellesto
